I'm asked often how did you come up with the name? That answer was simple. I wanted a name that was easy to remember and a t-shirt business I could pass down to my kids. My mom had three boys, and for some reason, both she and my pops decided our names would begin with a T. Tarey, Todd, and Travis. I followed her lead and named my boys Travis and Tidas, while my middle brother followed the same plan and named his boys Travante and Tavis with a small twist Miles and Mitchell. Either way, it was enough T's to name the online store for custom t-shirts TNTWORLDWIDE.
As I got older, the TNT became a pain in the tail when sending people to the website, so I kept it simple and dropped the TNT, plus Worldwide sound bold and powerful and was a perfect representation of my company and my thinking. Take your DREAMS WorldWide...
The 1865 tag was a small twist I added to the logo to remind me that my grandmother, Sylvia Johnson, raised eight kids in a one-bedroom house, picked cotton, and worked in a basket factory for 65 cents per hr. Her mother picked cotton, and her daughters and my mother picked cotton during the summer.
I would be the FIRST in our generation to SELL it. I prefer to call it "FLIPPING COTTON." We're DONE PICKING COTTON. I hope you FEEL ME!!!
